Listen below to the new episode of JABA in one take. This is the series where we break down a paper from JABA so that you, the research-focused practitioner can keep up with current research literature.
This episode is a heavy technical, but refreshingly creative look at the behavioral phenomenon of renewal. Renewal is the occurrence of behavior that has been put on extinction following a context/variable change. This phenomenon has been historically studied in translational or experimental settings, but research’s began to realize that behavioral feeding is a great place to study this phenomenon in the applied setting. The occurrence of renewal affects much more than just the behavioral feeding space, in affects the way that BCBAs should conduct parent training in our day to day practice.
